It's that time of year again.

Parents and caretakers find themselves rejoicing and groaning at the same time.

We're celebrating sending kids back to schedules and routines. We're celebrating someone else helping us to teach and entertain these little monsters.

We're moaning and groaning because our carefree schedules are gone: late wake ups, days filled with laughter and no set schedules, nights chasing fireflies and late bedtimes. We have to say goodbye for a good  nine months, and honestly, it's sad.

Yep. It's here.

It's BACK TO SCHOOL TIME.

My team has been doing an amazing job at providing so much information on getting ready for back to school. So, rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm going to share what the team has been sharing out in Facebook land and throw in some of my own insights from personal experience as a mother and a teacher.

In August (ok, you over-achievers, you can claim July), our minds set to the obvious:

But what about everything else? Here are some awesome tips to help you be 100% ready for back to school.

Tip 1:

Prepare your diffuser AT NIGHT before the hustle and bustle of the morning begins. That way, you're not adding yet another task to your already chaotic, rushed morning. Morning diffuser recommendation: Peppermint and Lemon. Why? Peppermint to put pep in your step and get rid of the morning grogginess. Lemon (or any citrus oil) to promote happiness and good moods. TEACHER NOTE: this blend is VERY popular with students if you are able to diffuse in the classroom!

Tip 2:

Give YOURSELF time before the rest of the house wakes up. I set my alarm an hour earlier than I get everyone else up. I use this time to meditate, set my intentions for the day, to pray and then, make lunches, get clothes, you know, the morning routine.

Tip 3:

school supplies, bottle of Thieves essential oilDo NOT wait until school actually starts to do this. START TODAY. You want to build up everyone's immune system, because we ALL know what happens when a bunch of human beings that don't always follow a clean protocol (sneeze into elbow, wash hands, etc) get together in one place. GERMS. And we all know what germs mean. Illness is to follow. Keep you and your household WELL and above the wellness line. How?

THIEVES.

Grab a handful of empty roller bottles, slap some tape or a label on the bottles that reads "Immunity" and put about 20-25 drops of Thieves EO, fill the rest with carrier oil. Apply morning and night to the bottoms of your feet. Make a bottle for everyone and label it with the appropriate name. Children 10+ get 25 drops, ages 5-9 get 20 drops and 5 and under get 10-15 drops.

Your immune system will get stronger, and if a bug happens to get you, you will get better faster.

Tip 4:

FOCUS! EMPOWER!

I am so very lucky that my kiddo's teachers let me send roller bottles to school with them. I send two: a Focus and during allergy season, a Sniffles blend. I have also sent a Cough roller when J was battling a cough we couldn't get rid of (with ANYTHING...but that blend...)

FOCUS ROLLER BOTTLE:

15 drops Cedarwood

15 drops Lavender

15 drops Vetiver

if you have Brain Power, add 10 drops

Fill with carrier oil of choice*

EMPOWER ROLLER BOTTLE:

15 drops Cedarwood

15 drops Lavender

15 drops Frankincense

15 drops Valor

Fill with carrier oil of choice*

Tip 5:

Homework time. I don't know about you, but I probably dread this part of the day more than any other part of the day. Just SIT DOWN AND DO YOUR WORK!

Diffuse Peppermint and Frankincense and rub Genyus on temples and back of neck.

From the Pros:

If you find that the smell is a bit strong (especially the focus roller), apply to the bottom of the feet and put socks and shoes on. The essential oils absorb the same, and the smell is not going to be coming through shoes and socks!

*I use V6, jojoba and almond oils for carriers. V6 is my favorite because it is very light, absorbs easily and has a neat dispenser that fits right into the roller bottle!

Geez. Long winded much?

There is SO MUCH MORE I have to share with you, but we only have so much time in a day, right??

TODAY is the day to get started.

Don't have the oils? Click here and we'll get you started with all of the oils I mentioned in this post (except Vetiver and Brain Power).
