Just be yourself and work intentionally to become the best-version-of yourself. This is the ultimate dream and when we are able to turn our attention to this, our lives are flooded with energy, enthusiasm, passion, purpose and JOY. This dream is God given.
The Best Lent Ever focuses on helping you to become the best version of yourself.
The call to action today is to sit down and look at your imperfections. In order to be the best version of yourself, you need to acknowledge and recognize what is not so perfect about you. It’s a humbling experience, for sure.
I know I am too quick to anger. I know I lack patience. I know I make choices that don’t allow me to be the healthiest (alcohol, food, not enough sleep, etc). I know that I choose too often to work rather than be diligent with my children. I know I’m not present enough in the lives that need me present.
What are your imperfections?
Day 2 – JOY and GRATITUDE
Sometimes, it takes intention.
I’m not going to lie. This one has been challenging to say the least. He seems to be pushing every limit he can; trying to get a rise out of me and Tim, his teacher, you name it. I fear we’ve let him get away with too much and he’s spoiled and unappreciative now. We are working on correcting this (if anyone has any pointers, I’m ALL ears). But the struggle is REAL. It’s defeating sometimes.
So the JOY and GRATITUDE has to be very intentional sometimes.
This little man made me a mommy. When he opens his heart to the world, it is so pure and so full of love and kindness. He is silly, he is devoted to whatever he sets his mind to. He brings me so much joy and I am so very thankful that God blessed me with choosing me to be his mommy.
We are learning this together. Each phase is new to both of us. Some of the phases are NOT fun. Some of the phases are amazing.
Jesus, teach me how to be gentle with myself and my children through this Lenten journey.
